Björn Bonsdorff

"I want to see a European Union that more closely collaborates when it comes to the global issues, with ambitious climate politics, with increased collaboration in defense and safety issues and with a properly digitalized inner market. "

The European Union has to be a precursor when it comes to the work towards human rights and democracy. Europe needs a new generation of informed decision makers. This new generation has a will to change the union for the better. Together this generation will stand up against the new wave of populism and fact-resistance that is spreading throughout Europe.

Bonsdorff has previously worked with EU-politics at the European liberals’ think tank in Brussels, at the Ministry of foreign affairs and at with the Liberal Democrats in London. He is a father of young children and is currently working as a political adviser.

Important political topics

Environment- and climate policy

I want to work for a real energy union, where we invest in renewable energy. The EU needs to be a global leader in the fight against climate change and have a sharp environmental policy.

EU:s core values

I will stand up, and defend, the core values of the European Union, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

Digital future

The EU needs to do more on future-proofing our legislation when it comes to artificial intelligens, bio-tech and the use of big data. How we regulate the developments of these technologies are essential for how democracy works in the coming century
